Edward Dougherty – Pennsylvania, President
Ed Dougherty serves as President of the Hibernian Charity and President of the Philadelphia County Board and Monsignor Thomas J. Rilley Division 39 in Philadelphia. He also served as a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians National Board Chairing the Hibernian Hunger Project (2006 – 2012) and served the same role with the Pennsylvania State Board.

Ed and his wife Maureen have been married for 30 years and they are proud parents of two daughters Caitlin and Maura.

Edward J. Wallace – New York, Treasurer
Ed Wallace is an AOH Past National President (1994-1998) and has been a member of the National Board for 33 years. Ed is also a past NY State President and is a 60 year member of the AOH. Ed initiated the Project St. Patrick Vocation Grant program in 1995 and is currently National Chairman of Catholic Action & Pro-Life. Ed is currently serving in his 4th term as a Director of the Hibernian Charity and serves as its Treasurer.

Ed is a retired teacher in the 1000 Islands School District. He is a past Grand Knight of Council 350, a veteran and member of the American Legion. He serves as a Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary’s Church and resides in Clayton, NY with his wife Mary Ellen. They are proud parents of Bridget, Michael, Maureen and Eileen.

Joe Casler – Louisiana, Secretary                                                                                                      
Joe is currently serving in his second term as AOH Louisiana State President and is also serving on the Board of the Louisiana Hibernian Charity.  A member of the AOH since 1996, Mr. Casler has also served as the AOH Louisiana State Board’s Fundraising Chairman.

Mr. Casler is an attorney who has been practicing law in Louisiana for over 20 years. For the past 17 years, he has worked for Progressive Insurance Company, and has been managing Progressive’s in house counsel operation in Louisiana for the past 8 years.  He resides in New Orleans and is the proud father of his daughter, Ava.

Board of Directors

Michael Byrne – New York
Michael emigrated from County Roscommon, Ireland in 1986. He has been a member of the AOH for 23 years. He is Past President of the Nassau County Board and chairman of the A O. H. Nassau County Feis and Festival.  Michael is a founding member of the “Long Island Gaels” Gaelic Football Club. The club was organized in 1990. He was the first president of the minor board which was organized in 1994 and currently has five underage teams from under 8 to under 16. Michael has been a member of the Irish American Society of Nassau Suffolk and Queens since 1987. As a home improvement contractor, he has played an active role in the renovations to the center in Mineola.

Michael is the proud father of four children Fiona, Michelle, Conor, and Declan with his wife Rosemarie.

Tom Beirne – New York

Tom Beirne is the NY County Board AOH President and has been an active Hibernian for over 30 years. He has chaired numerous Hibernian events including the 175th Anniversary of the AOH in NY in May of 2011. Tom initiated and organized the Barry Run in 2012, to raise money and awareness for the Commodore John Barry Memorial, a solo run by Tom McGrath from NYC to Annapolis Maryland. Tom has worked on the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for close to 40 years and served on their Board of Directors. He has donated his time to numerous charitable causes including serving on the Executive Board of The Archbishop Hughes Memorial Committee, unveiling a monument to Archbishop Hughes in NYC in November 2015.

Tom is a Civil Engineer and has over 25 years experience in the Construction Industry. He is married to Virginia and they are the proud parents of Sean, Margaret, and Audrey.

Jere Cole- New Jersey

Jere currently serves as an AOH National Secretary- Catholic Action Chairman for two years and also is Chairman of the Pro-Life Committee. A member of the Michael L. Delahunty, AOH Division 9 in Essex County New Jersey. Jere is a Past AOH New Jersey State Board President and a retired Essex County, New Jersey Sheriff’s Detective.

Jere & his wife Marjorie have been married for 44 years & have 2 daughters and 3 grandsons.

Tim Harvey- Maryland

Tim has served as the Maryland AOH State President since 2009 and also serves as treasurer for the Padriag Pearse Division One, Baltimore County. He has been a member of the AOH since January 1985. Tim was the treasurer for the Baltimore St. Patrick’s parade for 13 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He was elected Grand Marshal in 2006.

Tim has worked for 25 years for the Department of Defense in the area of Government contracts and program management. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Irish Railroad Worker’s Museum in Baltimore, Md.

John J. Kelly – Virginia
John J. (J J) Kelly is a Past AOH Virginia State President and has been the National Chairman for Veterans Affairs for many years. He also serves as the AOH National Chairman for Ritual and Degrees, and is a charter member and Chairman of the Brian Boru Major Degree Team in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

J.J. is a retired Colonel of the United States Army, a Past Grand Knight of two different Knights of Columbus Councils, and a two time former District Deputy.

He resides in Springfield, VA. J.J. has three children, Kathleen, Scott and Brian, along with four grandsons and three granddaughters.

Daniel J O’Connell – Ohio                                                                                                             

Danny O’Connell serves the Ancient Order of Hibernians as National Treasurer. Prior to this position he served two terms as National Director. During this time period he served as National Organizer for two years and National Immigration Chairman for two years. O’Connell came to the National Board after serving Ohio as State President and Vice President as well as serving Mahoning County in the same capacity. He also served Ohio as Chairman of Missions and Charities, and Organizer. He is currently employed at Youngstown State University as Director of Support Services.

Danny received his MA Degree from Kent State University and his BA Degree from Hiram College where he was a four year starter in football earning All-American honors and captain selection his senior year. While at Hiram he became a member and president of the Rugby Football Club continuing to play for 22 years traveling to Ireland and Wales to play for the Amoskeag Rugby Club.

During his AOH campaigns O’Connell committed to work relentlessly on behalf of the National Board, which he continues to do today. In addition to his appointed duties he continues to Support the AOH as a whole working annually locally on Project St. Patrick, Freedom for All Ireland Christmas Appeal, Right to Life, and Hibernian Charities. He is an avid supporter of the Degrees and Rituals of the Order assisting the Ohio Degree team with a statewide fundraiser during his term as president. During his time on the National Board Danny served as chairman of the National Life Membership review committee, Chairman of the FFAI review committee, Chairman of the Project St. Patrick review committee and as a member of the budget committee.

Danny was instrumental in creating fillable pdf forms for use in national reporting and in improving communications from the National Board to the membership. He served as a key member of the National Office transition team including loading the truck and driving from Auburn to New Jersey. He was the point person in implementing the National Computer updates which were initiated by past National Secretary Tom McNabb and completed under current National Secretary Jere Cole.
